It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Barkley (Akron, Ohio), born in Montezuma, Georgia, who passed away on August 16, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughters, Elizabeth Barkley and Yvonne Fedrick; her great grandchild Daylen Pickett; her siblings, Willie B. Rogers, Nathaniel Rodgers, Larry Rogers, Michael Rogers, William Rogers, Hillie Evans, Tommy Rogers, Hattie Harper, Evelyn Rogers Banks, Ernestine Rogers Ray and Peggy Leonard; and her nieces and nephews, Lena Johnson, Mary Louise Robinson, Sam Smith and J. C. Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Diana Melton (Doug) and Darlene Clemons. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
