He is survived by: his children, John Curtiss (Marcy), Christina Tharp (Brian) and Teresa Fox (Brad); his grandchildren, Julie Bress (Alan), John Michael, Jacob, Curtiss Tharp (Hannah), Olivia Huntley (Joe), Marisa Tharp, Elena Griffin (Samuel Ethan) and Jeremy Griffin; his great grandchildren, Rosie, Annie and Sam Bress; and his grandchildren, Isaac, Violet, Lucy, Brooks, Bennett Curtiss, Bodhi, Knox Huntley and Augustine Griffin.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schermesser Eberhardt Funeral Home (600 East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, OH 44319). A prayer was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Annunciation Akron Greek Orthodox Church (129 S Union St, Akron, OH 44304).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walt's name to Annunciation Akron Greek Orthodox Church for their service ministries.
