He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. West and Hattie Bobo West; his wife Hazel Woodyard West; his son-in-law David Fraedrich; his great grandchild Casey West Adams; his siblings, Winifred West Hooper, Mae West Radford, Evelyn West Hooper, Frances West Keogh, Madge West Chesser, Lawrence West, Darrell West and Ralph West; and his granddaughter-in-law Lisa Haines Adams.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda I. Barcus (Lucian) and Jeanie K. Fraedrich; his grandchildren, Tim Adams (JoAnne), Tony Adams, Mike Fraedrich (Shonna), Angie Booth (Justin), Matt Barcus and Sarah Barcus Holihan (Christian); and his close friend Shirley Henthorne.
