He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Jennings and Ersel Bullock Adkins; and his brothers, Oscar and John Adkins. He is survived by: his wife Judy Carder Adkins; and his children, James L. Adkins (Ann), John W. Adkins (Teena) and Rebecca L. Douglas (Leland). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
