It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Levi Deaton of Alledonia, Ohio, born in Hazlehurst, Georgia, who passed away on December 2, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Deaton and Blanche Burnham Deaton; his granddaughter Emily Crago; and his sisters, Eva Carter, Joyce Thompson and Betty Mincey.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Datkuliak Deaton; his children, Carla Crago (John) of Canal Winchester, Mark Deaton of Alledonia, Michael Deaton (Tammy) of Clarington and Bryan Deaton (Kim) of Hope Mills; his grandchildren, Abigail, Chase Crago, Kayla, Jason, Kristen Deaton, Rayshel Morris, Krista Deaton and Anna Deaton; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Madelynn, Ethan Morris and Troy Peoni; his niece Shirley Calhoun; and his nephews, Steve and Davyd Mincey.
