He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Penturf and Bernice Penturf (Mulinix); his brother Ron; and his stepson Patrick Sano. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Penturf (McCallum); his daughters, Dr. Stephanie Shealy (Drew) and Dr. Ann Kesterke (Chuck); his grandchildren, Jake, Alex, Adam and Charlie; his stepson Andrew Sano; his sisters, Susan Potts (Gary), Darla Davis and Janet Frank (Dewayne); his parents-in-law, Jerry and Mary Kay McCallum; and his brothers-in-law, John McCallum (Laura) and Matt McCallum (Ben).

I first met Barry during the summer between 8th and 9th grade when I went out for the football team at State Street Jr. High. I had attended St. Joes so I did not know anyone.
