He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Broadwater and Cora Broadwater (Brenneman); his wife Dorothy Broadwater (Erb); and his siblings, Robert, William Broadwater, Thelma Wheeler and Glenna Parks.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Cunningham (Robert) and Gregory Broadwater; and his grandchildren, Shannon Cunningham (Thomas Brelinski), Shadd Cunningham, Briana Schwind (Carl), Ross (Kim) and Cody Broadwater. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
