He was predeceased by: his father George W. Coats; his sister Barbara Ray; his cousin Willie Hicks; and his niece Iris Ray. He is survived by: his mother Ruby Coats; his sisters, Dyanna Myers (Bishop Nick) of Alliance, Ohio., Georgia Coats of Alliance, Ohio. and Patricia Coats of Alliance, Ohio.; and his children, Erick Hawkins, Michelle Hawkins and Michael Lawson. He is also survived by grandchildren, numerous nieces/nephews, great-nieces/ nephews, one great-great nephew, and many cousins and friends.
