He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bussard and Dorothy Bussard (Short); and his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Bussard. He is survived by: his children, Shelly Hines (Kirk) of Lancaster and Brad Bussard (Chastity) of Amanda; his grandchildren, Kassidy Adkins (Dillon), Kaitlyn Cummin (Tyler), Braxton Bussard and Kaden Hines; his great grandchild Gracelynn Adkins; his sister Judy Ruffner of Lancaster; his close friends, Clarence McCoy Sr. (Jan), Tom Schooley and Tim Malone (Sheila); and his pet Gunnar.
