She was predeceased by: her parents, James McIlwaine and Elizabeth McIlwaine; her mother-in-law June Strehle; and her siblings, James McIlwaine (Pat), Robert McIlwaine (Lori), David McIlwaine, Mae Beth Perrell (Frank) and Ruth Gross.
She is survived by: her husband Richard "Butch" Engle; her children, Kelly Kennon (Jim), Scott Engle (Gail), Michelle Combs (Doug) and Heather Siegenthaler (Steve); her grandchildren, Heather Kennon (Jarrod), Josh Kennon, Taylor Corry (Jack), Matthew Combs (Densie) and Sydney Hinton (Laken); her great grandchildren, Makala Stout (Sam), Hailey Engle, Reece, Callum and Lucas; her great great grandchild Ezra; and her stepgrandsons, Bruce Strauss and Kenny Strauss. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hempel Funeral Home (373 Cleveland Ave, Amherst, OH 44001). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
