He was predeceased by: his father Jarrett; and his siblings, Evelyn, Nancy and Larry. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Pepperling; his sons, Jeff (Diane), Jerry and Joe (Diane); his grandchild Laurie Shepherd (Chris); and his son-in-law Chris. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Since that time, he suffered many health setbacks and his heart was further broken by the Alzheimer's diagnosis of his son, Jerry.
