She was predeceased by: her parents, William Scarbrough and Purley Scarbrough (Ratliff); her husband William VonRoeder; her daughter Evelyn Christine Miller; her granddaughter Tamera Vasili; and her granddaughter-in-law Stephanie LeGrande.
She is survived by: her son Ronnie LeGrande (Dawna); her sister Wilma Shamblin; and her grandchildren, David Wilson (Michelle), Sarah Peters (Eric), Ronnie LeGrande (Monica), Shey-Rima LeGrande, Jason LeGrande and Jennifer Miller. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bernice was also a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and Baptist church, and assisted with the church donations to help the families in need in her community.
