He is survived by: his wife Shirley Dearing (Chenoweth); his children, David Dearing (Rehema) of Lake and Lori Flora (Mark) of Troy, Ohio; his grandsons, Adam Flora (Megan), Isaac Flora (Jaclyn) and Harrison Dearing; his siblings, Pat Platt (Gordon), Jeanette Russell (Gary) and Susan Lutz; his sister-in-law Madonna Dearing; and his in-laws, Donn McCoy (Kathy), Jan Salazar (Hector), Steve Chenoweth (Nancy) and Roger McCoy.
