He is survived by: his mother Leta Avers of Archbold; his wife Angie; his daughter Dr. Richelle Avers (Matthew) of Fargo, ND; his stepchildren, Jessica Grime Harris (Napoleon) and Jeremiah Grime (Nicky); his grandchildren, Charles Edward, Carlos Edward, Cahlil Edward, Napoleon, Carys, Kyrin, Lawson Grime and Kaleigh Pringle; his great grandchildren, Bryce, Savannah, Peyton and Brooks; his grandchildren, Adaline, Brexton, Braxton, Lilly, Ellie and Arabella; his siblings, Tom Avers (Brenda) and Carolyn Ruwe (Paul) of Gainesville, VA; and his siblings' children, Andrea, Eliza Avers, Samuel, Gregory and Raechal Ruwe of Gainesville, VA..
Viewing was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials can be given to St. Martin's Lutheran Church, children's ministries, or the donor's choice.
