With profound sadness, we say goodbye to David Short of Archbold, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. David left this world on August 27, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Short and Dorothy Short (Rychener); his siblings, Jeanette Smith (Fred) and Gerald Short (Marilyn); his sister-in-law Jeannie Flory; his nephew Kim Short; and his niece Luann Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Trudy (Taylor); his children, Chad Short (Greta) of Lancaster, PA, Kristi Speiser (Scott) of Chesterland, OH and Sommer Mello (Matt) of Archbold; his grandchildren, Sarah, Savannah, Sami, Meg, Elsie, Isaac and Edwin; his brother Richard Short (Sylvia); and his siblings-in-law, Tom Taylor (Jean) and Deb Markey (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice or the charity of the family's choice.
