He is survived by: his wife Sharon Green; his sons, Douglas Shields Jr. of Napoleon, OH, Jeffery Shields (Candy) of Milford, MI and William Shields of Morenci; his grandchildren, Courtney Reyes (Roman) of Napoleon, OH, Caitlyn Bittinger (Carl) of Lyons, OH, Damon Casebere of Morenci and Zack Shields of Morenci; his great grandchildren, Curtis and Creed Bittinger of Lyons; his siblings, Roger Shields (Jane) of Tallahassee, FL, Linda Hames of Raleigh, NC and Carol Shields of Plymouth, MI; his brothers-in-law, Robert Green (Carol) of Brighton, MI and Kenneth Green of Sand Creek; his parents-in-law, Robert and Gladys Green; and his sister-in-law Trudy Green.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. James Lutheran Church (22881 Monroe St, Archbold, OH 43502). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in honor of Doug are suggested to benefit St. James Lutheran Church.
