Charleene Y. Smith Bloss Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 12, 2025, at the age of 88, Charleene Y. Smith Bloss of Ashland, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Horn and Mary Van Horn; her husbands, Ralph Smith and Richard; her son Bill Smith; her brother Thomas Van Horn; and her siblings-in-law, Neil Ridgeway and Jean Van Horn.
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Glass (Mark) of Ashland and Daniel Smith (Laura) of Ashland; her stepson Reese Bloss of Marienville, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Brennan Smith of Austin, BriAnne Forrester (Troy) of Butler, Jennifer Chapman (Joshua) of Ashland, Ryan Smith (Kayla) of Ashland, Heather Douglas (Ryan) of Cincinnati and Gregg Berkshire (Brittany) of Medina; her siblings, Rhonda Stoner (Dean) of Perrysville, Cindy Ridgeway of Perrysville and John Van Horn of Hayesville; and her sister-in-law Susan Van Horn of Loudonville. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home (313 Center St, Ashland, OH 44805). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 112 Harcourt Rd #3, Mt Vernon, OH 43050 or to Perrysville Baptist Church, 118 S Bridge St, Perrysville, OH 44864.
