He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Gast and Golda Gast; Alfred, Bessie Bryan and Glenn Gast (Josephine).

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Gast of Ashland; his children, Sherry Fultz (Clyde), Debora Fulk (Brian), Wayne Gast and Angie Bassel; his grandchildren, Heather Dress (Mark), Holly Fultz, Cris Thomas (Patrick Walsh), Shannon Albers (Landon), Josh, Jared Crabtree (Merideth) and Christy Doss (Chris); and his brother Dean Gast (Nancy). He is also survived by many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
