He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Emily Septima Irvine (Grifiths); his wife Joyce Ann Irvine (White) of Lewistown, PA; and his sisters, Gladys "Gil" Ludeman and Arleen Schotanus (Faust).
He is survived by: his children, Amy Elderbrock of Ashland, Thomas Irvine (Shirley) of Shelby, OH and Nancy Irvine (Craig Selby) of Ashland; his grandchildren, Emily Carnett (Chris), Molly Gatterdam (Dave), Betsy Szilagyi (Angus), Andrew Elderbrock (Brooke) and Melanie Irvine-Selby; and his great grandchildren, Zander Brock and Ryder Jack Gatterdam.
