He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Ream; his sister Lavonna Rush; and his granddaughter Sophia Walter. He is survived by: his children, Edward Sarkel (Lori) of Hilliard and Gail Walter (Jon) of Ashland; and his granddaughters, Elizabeth Smith (Torrance) of Chapel Hill, Katherine Sarkel of Hilliard, Vivian Walter of Ashland and Sadie Walter of Ashland.
