He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his children, David Zimmerman of Ashland and Jan Knecht (Mike) of Mansfield; his grandsons, Ryan Knecht of Tulsa, OK, Jason Knecht and Justin Knecht (Shannon); his great grandchildren, Kaleb, Aubrey and Lindsay; and his siblings, Ron Gray of Mansfield and Ann Gray of Ashland.

“Bonnie, David & Janet, (& Ron Gray): I belatedly discovered Jim's obit online. So sorry to hear of his passing - probably just a couple of months after I last saw him. He lived a good long time! I have many fond memories of times spent with Jim, mostly from our time at the Ashland A/G church from 1960-64. I enjoyed hearing him play the piano, singing with him in quartets & in nursing home visits , and occasionally working out with him. I always enjoyed being around him.”
