She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel M. Smith and Mildred A. Smith; her husband Melvin E. Lafferty; her daughter Kathleen J. Strine; her grandchildren, Meghan Strine and John Shenberger; and her siblings, Gerald Smith (Rita), Samuel Smith (Rosella), Ronald Smith (Josephine) and Bonnie Gould (Charles "Bud").
She is survived by: her children, Kim M. Shenberger (Thomas) of Ashland and Kevin G. Lafferty (Shirley) of Ashland; her son-in-law Mike Strine of Ashland; her grandchildren, Kaitlin McGrath (Steve), Jacob Shenberger, Samuel Shenberger, Timothy Lafferty (Jennifer) and Stacie Lafferty; and her granddaughter-in-law Beth Shenberger. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Interment will be on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay, OhioIn lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 112 Harcourt Rd #3, Mt Vernon, OH 43050 or the Ashland Christian Health Center, 380 East 4th Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
