He was predeceased by: his parents, Rolla Bantz and Lola Childs Bantz. He is survived by: his wife Roma Smith Bantz; his children, Jerry Bantz of Ashland and Lisa Wilfong (Dan) of Ashland; his grandchildren, Lila Wilfong, Brett Bantz and Andrew Bantz; and his sister Jo Ann Corn of Ashland.
