We bid farewell to Portia A Tanner of Ashland, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 15, 2025 at the age of 79. Portia touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the vast expanse of eternity, Portia shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Portia farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jerry Tanner; and her brothers, James McNeal and Larry Fowler. She is survived by: her children, Christina Trent (Denny) of Ashland and Mark Tanner (Kim) of Wooster; her sister Marilyn Gallion (Bob) of Wooster; and her friend Sally Pummell. She is also survived by seven grandchildren six great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (80 W Buckeye St, West Salem, OH 44287). A memorial service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
