He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Ward and Gladys Ward (Zeigler); his son Jeff Ward; and his siblings, Clyde Jr., Grace, Donna, David, Bill and Ronald.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ann Ward (Vipperman); his children, Paul Ward (Maggie), Tim Ward (Tracy), Donald M. Ward, Johnny Ward and Teresa Esola; his grandchildren, Kevin Ward, Brandi Golden (Aaron), Merranda Ward, Chaz Ward (Brittany) and Kendrea Ward; his great grandchildren, Eli, Kole and Jamison; and his siblings, Sarah, Carolyn, Betty and Vic.
