He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred C. VanGilder and Freda VanGilder; his sons, Billy VanGilder, Jr. and Kenneth VanGilder; and his grandson Keegan Maple.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Capone (Tom), Brenda Jerauld (Gary) and Kelly Kern (David); and his grandchildren, Stephanie Blenman (Mike), Kyle VanGilder (Ashley), Staci Metzinger, Arin Franklin (Ryan), Nicole Tabor, Kendrick Maple, Jillian Kern (Janet) and Alex Kern (Mandy). He is also survived by twenty-five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
