It is with sadness that the passing of Hildegard Goodale in Ashtabula, Ohio is shared. Hildegard, born on April 26, 1936, passed away on August 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John Goodale; her daughter Rose Cole (Goodale); her sister Elizabeth Hardt; her parents, Alfred Hardt and Maria Hardt; her parents-in-law, Hugh and Lilah Goodale (Sheldon); her sisters-in-law, Marguerite Doerge-Foster (Goodale), Hazel Strausser (Goodale) and Helen Ely (Goodale); and her niece Marguerite "Peggy" Hart (Doerge).
She is survived by: her son Hugh Goodale (Jill); her son-in-law Derren Cole; her grandchildren, Kristi Cole, Denice Ellis (Ben), Joseph Goodale, Daniel Goodale, Jarrod Cole, Heather Stone (Frank) and Ashley Cole; her great grandchildren, Melanie Davis, Daniel Goodale Jr., Rebekah Ellis, Madeline Ellis, Gabriel Stone, Kayla Goodale, Nora Ellis, Addison Stone, David Goodale and David Robinson; her brother Hans (Waltraud Hardt); and her nieces and nephews, Elvira Steifel, Patti Gillespie (Strausser), Kay Gurtz (Strausser), Kim Strausser, Sandra Wheelock (Ely), Heribert Hardt and James Ely.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oakdale Cemetery (328 N Market St, Jefferson, OH 44047).
