He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony Rich and Anna Rich (Sturdevant); his siblings, Tony, Pat, Betty, Irene and Ralphina; and his son-in-law Richard Hernandez.

He is survived by: his son Jim; his daughter-in-law Kori Rich; his daughter Kathy Rich; his grandchildren, Kara Norman, Keith and Ciara Jones; and his sister Felicia Gibbs.
