He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Barnard and Catherine Barnard (Durkovic); his wife Sharon Barnard (Rice); his son-in-law James Spragg; his grandson Samuel Lee Morris; his siblings, Anna Leonard, Shirley Burns, Harry B. Jr., James, Richard, Kathleen Fisher, Naomi Welker, Judy Lynn Barnard and Robert; and his brother-in-law Philip Mathieu II.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Marinchak (Scott), Barbara Spragg and Kelly Lupien (Adam); his grandchildren, Craig Barnard, Britni Morris, Austin Marinchak (Nicole), Amie Pittman, Michael Taggart, Cody Taggart (Gaby), Christopher Mixer Jr., Justin Mixer (Lindsey), Megan Harvey (Michael), Kourtni Budy (Josh), Catherine Budy and Hannah Budy; and his sisters, Harriet Mathieu and Carolyn Rice (Richard). He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Czup Funeral Home (1329 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, OH 44004). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 11:55 AM to 12:05 PM at the Greenlawn Cemetery. A committal service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 12:10 PM at the same location.
