He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Pestello and Sandra Pestello (Pevec); his stepfather John Garbutt; his sister-in-law Christine Pestello; and his father-in-law William Johnston.
He is survived by: his wife Tammy Johnston; his grandchildren, Preston, Emberlin and Mushu; his siblings, Christopher Pestello, Laurie Polasko (Allan) and John Garbutt (Linda); his mother-in-law Judy Johnston; his siblings-in-law, Shelly Damon (Lon) and Dino Johnston (Shannon); and his nephew Teddy Polasko (Maryella Polasko).
