He was predeceased by: his parents, James Whalen Sr. and Betty Goodman (Hacker); and his brother Clayton Whalen. He is survived by: his brothers, James Whalen (Toni) of Ashtabula and James Schlegel (Loretta) of Ashtabula; his nieces, Jill Lynn Brunkhorst and Jennifer Elaine Grace of Youngstown; his great-nephew Eugene; and his great-niece Lora.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Saybrook Cemetery (7247 Center Rd, Ashtabula, OH 44004).
