He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Simon and Grace Simon (Bishop); his wife Joanne Robinson; and his siblings, Michael and Francis.

He is survived by: his children, Benjamin Simon (Shelley), Gregory Simon (Lexi) and Holly Simon-Lane; his grandchildren, Lily Simon, Owen Simon, Henry Simon, Zayah Lane (Brent Budd), Elijah Hyatt and Penelope Hyatt; his great grandchild Isley; his siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Smith, James Simon and David Simon; and his friend Ava Severino. He is also survived by cousins and close friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Czup Funeral Home (1329 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, OH 44004). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (1220 E 21st St, Ashtabula, OH 44004). The military honors will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 3:15 PM to 3:30 PM at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
