He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlos Nicholson and Geraldine Lawson Nicholson; and his sister Sharon Chalfant. He is survived by: his sons, Brent Nicholson (Shelley) of Athens and Brian Nicholson (Kerry) of Athens; his grandchildren, Tiffany Teel (Josh Salyers) of Stewart, Kyle Teel (Ashley) of Athens, Leslie Young (Derek) of Athens, Latausha Caldwell (Shade) of Albany and Kayla Gugin (Michael) of Potsdam, NY; his great grandchildren, Christopher Caldwell (Andrea), Audrey Ross, Caden Teel, Presley Teel, Nathaniel Caldwell, Fisher Young, Luke Caldwell, Geraldine Caldwell, Kensley Teel, Shadrach Caldwell and Zechariah Caldwell; and his great great grandchildren, Dominick Caldwell and Sophia Caldwell.
