With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles David Frey of Athens, Ohio, who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Charles leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his father James Oliver; his son Curtis Frey; and his brother James Calvin Frey. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Jane "Janey" Luchs Smith; his children, Corey Frey and Bridget Frey; and his siblings, Sharon Prewitt, Sallie Idoine and Addison Frey.
