He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Carsey and Flossie Markin Carsey; his grandparents, Seldon Carsey and Maria Carsey; his wife Helen Holland Carsey; his daughter Rita Carsey Thomas; his children-in-law, Anita Shamhart Carsey and Darrell Jolley; his great grandchild Adam Jolley; and his siblings, Clarence, Wayne, Wade, Wes, James, Elias Carsey and Freda Carsey Currens.
He is survived by: his children, Dana Carsey, Jr., Basil David Carsey and Virginia Jolley; his grandchildren, David, Dawn, Dana, Dixie, Joanie, Helen, Max, Brian, Rex, Clint, Greg, Gary, Ginger and Gloria; and his sister Elizabeth Carsey Phillips. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
