He is survived by: his children, James L. Barnhart Jr. of Athens, Christi Barnhart of Athens, Jamie Darnell (Jamie) of Albany and Tauna Barnhart of Athens; and his siblings, Jess Barnhart (Betty) of Trimble, Steve Barnhart of Belpre and Linda Mount of The Plains. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, several step brothers, step sisters; nieces, and nephews.
