It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John J. Lavelle of Athens, Ohio, who passed away on June 14, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John J. Lavelle to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis A. Lavelle and Elizabeth "Belle" Schloss Lavelle; his wife Mary Lou Davis Lavelle; and his siblings, Elizabeth Mulvaney, Kathleen Shamel, Theresa Skinner, William A. Lavelle and Phillip F. Lavelle.
He is survived by: his children, Lynda Bentley (Gary), Laura Lively (Randy) of Athens, Scott Lavelle (Patricia) of Athens and Tim Lavelle (Linnette) of Strongsville; his grandchildren, Caitlin Anderson (Kevin), John Joseph Lavelle II, Maggie Pfeifer (Adam), Alexandra Day Lavelle, Brad Bentley, Jessica Woods (Levi), Courtney Meyers (Jude), Mary Ann Kirby (Aaron) and Charlotte Lively; his great grandchildren, Harper, Grayson Anderson, Jack Pfeifer and Casey Woods; his siblings-in-law, Mary June Lavelle of Starkville, Mississippi and Don Skinner of Athens; and his caregivers, Lisa Crabtree and Kelly Kasler. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
