He is survived by: his children, Dr. Jennifer Ray-Mader (Joe) of Cokato, Minnesota, Brad Ray (Barcy) of Kingsport, Tennessee and James Ray (Dena) of Conroe, Texas.; his grandson Justin Ray (Brianna) of Ashville; his great grandchildren, Tucker Ray and James Everett Ray; and his grandchildren, Alexis Lipoma of Kingsport and Josh Layne of Columbus, Ohio..
He gave decades of volunteer leadership to the American Cancer Society, including local and statewide chairman and executive committee roles.
