He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James Allen Haynes, Sr., Edward and Evelyn Smith. He is survived by: his parents, Charles Edward "Eddie" Smith (Lazenda) of Letart and Rhonda Kay Haynes Lee (Kelly) of Cottageville; his wife Allana Cottrill of Athens; his children, Leia, Emmett, Beau, Ben and Eric; his brothers, Andy Smith of Mount Alto, Lewis Akers (Jen) of Morgantown, Gattlin Akers (Silvia) of Morgantown and Frankie Lee (Grace) of Ripley; his grandmother Dotty Hayes (Frank) of Cottageville; his uncle Allen Haynes of Mount Alto; and his aunts, Charlotte Denney (PeeWee) of Letart and Lana Smith of Mount Alto.
Kent's favorite charity was the local food pantry started by his mother during the pandemic.
