He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bruce and Dorothy Thompson Bruce; his siblings, Patricia Bruce, Janis Enevoldsen, Larry Bruce and Kris Bruce; and his niece Kathy Shea Mulligan.
He is survived by: his daughter Charla; his son-in-law Tim Gretz of The Plains; his grandchildren, Shyanna and Conner Gretz; his siblings, Kathy Koska (Phil) of Athens and Jim Bruce (Pam) of Athens; his siblings-in-law, Sharon "Mimi" Bruce of Nelsonville and George Enevoldsen of Athens; and his close friends, Mike Carbaugh of Athens, Dave Smith of Middleport and Charlie Gambill of Nelsonville. He is also survived by seven nieces and three nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jagers & Sons Funeral Home (24 Morris Ave, Athens, OH 45701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
