He was predeceased by: his father H. Gayle Johnson, Jr.; his aunt Jeannie Dawson; and his cousin Kerri Wagner. He is survived by: his mother Alice L. Arnold Johnson of Athens; his brother Bryan Johnson (Carrie) of Athens; his nieces, Harper and Sawyer Johnson; his uncle Ron Dawson (Kathleen); his cousins, Neil Dawson (Patty), Nick Linscott (Karen Culp), Ted Linscott (Lynn) and Mark Linscott (Deadra Weiss); his extended family Richard Wagner; Julia.
