He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus E. McConnell and Catherine A. McConnell (Miller); and his great-niece Annalise Murphy. He is survived by: his siblings, Terry McConnell (Pat), Mary Ross (Ed), Gregory McConnell (Sherry), Suzanna Hintze (George), Nancy Thomas (Ron), David McConnell (Cindy), Theresa Leber (Fred), Debbie Dresser (Scott) and Valerie Bumb (Mark). He is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews; 74 great-nieces and nephews; and 2 great-great nephews.
