He is survived by: his wife Phyllis "Tracy"; his children, Courtney Evenchik (Aaron), Benjamin Appel (Jakana Thomas) and Chad Appel (Denny Johnson); his grandchildren, Rabbi Betzalel (Hindi), Shayna, Zacharia, Max and Noah; his sister Bonnie Hildebrand (Gary); and his brothers-in-law, Mark Friedman (Jill) and David Friedman (Enid).
