It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Paul Arthur Shimek of Austinburg, Ohio, born in Painesville, Ohio, who passed away on November 15, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Shimek and Marietta Shimek (Houser); his grandson Kyle Thompson; and his siblings, Martha Cole, Marie Shimek, John, Jim, Rich and Albert Shimek.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Shimek; his daughters, Belinda Mercer (Jack), Amy Shimek and Paula Kister (Keith); his stepchildren, Melissa Dangrow (Jamie) and Michael Wiley; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Carter (Melinda), Adrienne Carter, Laura Beardsley, Joseph Beardsley, Danny Waltz, Tim Rees (Nicole), Allison Rees, Jared Emmett and Jenna Wygant; and his pet Sheba. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
