Daniel F. Schmidt Sr. Obituary
We announce the death of Daniel F. Schmidt Sr. of Austintown, Ohio, who passed away on October 14, 2026, at the age of 91. Daniel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Schmidt and Mary Schmidt; his wife Phyllis Ellis Schmidt; his sons, Daniel Jr. and Scott Schmidt; his sister Dorothy Ellis (Charles); and his grandson Ryan Hofus.
He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Blick (Samuel), Judy Proverbs (Jack), Roger and Fred Schmidt; his children, Brian Schmidt and Marion Mayle (Roger); and his grandchildren, Rebecca Stack (Scott), Daniel Schmidt III (Laurie) and Brett Hofus. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (2305 S Canfield-Niles Rd, Youngstown, OH 44515). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
