He was predeceased by : his parents, Samuel B. Newton, and Ella May Edmonds Newton, Sr.; his wife Nancy L. Newton; and his siblings, Samuel Newton, Sr., Richard W. Newton, William J. Newton, Sr., Sandra Fishbaugh and Robert J Newton, Sr..

He is survived by : his children, Eric R. Newton, Jr. of Austintown and Michele Gollner (Michael F. Guzzo, Jr.) of Austintown; his sister Rose Marie Newton-Clay (William) of Austintown; his sister-in-law Barbara J. Newton of Youngstown; his grandson Robert Anthony Newton; and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Emery and Elicia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Tod Homestead Cemetery Chapel (2200 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, OH 44505). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
