He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis George and Flossie Eudora VanGundy (Cooper); his siblings, Earl, Leroy, Roger, John VanGundy, Leila Henderson, Mary Jarrels, Opal Maughmer and Carolyn Rumfield; his parents-in-law, Charles and Mary Dotson; and his close friends, Jack and Dorothy McCloskey.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah K. Dotson; his children, Suzy Ward (Pete) of Bainbridge and Roddy VanGundy (Melody) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Ian Ward, Callie Baker (Simon), Luke, Mia and Willow VanGundy; and his sister Ann Eiring. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Storms Chapel (3390 Spargursville Rd, Bainbridge, OH 45612). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at the Twin Township Cemetery (12168 US-50, Chillicothe, OH 45601).
