Gene Gardner Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on January 5, 2026, at the age of 95, Gene Gardner of Barberton, Ohio, born in Akron, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Gardner and Helen Gardner; and his sister Marilyn Bowers. He is survived by: his wife Mary Gardner; his children, Debbie Ligas (John), Pam Campbell (John), Randy Gardner (Shari) and Steve Gardner (Tracy); his grandchildren, John Ligas (Jacqueline), Dan Ligas, Michelle Light (Christopher), Lauren Zugay (Maxwell) and Caroline Gardner (Austin Walker); his stepgrandchildren, Amber Schodorf (Ryan), Heather Whisman (Aaron), Cory Hoffman (Madison) and Taylor Hoffman; and his great grandchildren, John, Thomas Ligas, Brett, Maelin Light, Lucas, Eliza Zugay, Tate Gardner and Aspyn Walker. He is also survived by 9 step great grandchildren.
