With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald W. Young of Barberton, Ohio, who passed away on May 17, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lbert Young and Ella Young; his former wife Valerie Donahue; his wife Rita Kepler; his daughter Laurie Trusky; and his brother William Young.

He is survived by: his children, Jerry Young (Sue), Linda Kellar (Gary) and Julie Kuhn (Terry); his son-in-law Ron Trusky; his grandchildren, Nicole Bennett, Dusty Price (Aaron), Laura Benedict (Dave), Andy Young (Xinran), Katy Heter (Trent), Angela Huber (Joey) and Evan Kuhn (Krystina); and his brother Charlie Young (Sue). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

“Jerry is/was my Ole buddy here in Florida. Met him and Rita at a sports bar (yea, go figure) and instantly hit it off with him and RITA (the belle of the ball) in 1992. He joined my golf group and we spent a lot of time laughing, drinking (him, not me :). and became extremely close. His sense of humor and mannerisms were unmatched by "normal" people. He always called me on my birthdays, as did I on his. His HATRED for Art Modell will is legendary. Rest in peace my friend-my heart aches.”
