He was predeceased by: his father Frank Kolar. He is survived by: his mother Colene Beckett; his brothers, Dan Kolar (Elaine), Gregory Kolar, Brien Kolar, Marty Kolar, Andrew Kolar and Phillip Kolar (Tammy); his close friend Deborah Kolar; his children, Douglas Dunwald (Ashley), Andrew Kolar (Brooke) and Katie Riley (Ryan); and his grandchildren, Grace, Grady, Rosalind, Griffin, Graham, Sullivan and Maura. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
